Catching Up - Pin Striped Skull

I decided to do some more practicing a little airbrush work and a little pin stripe work on paper.

Again, this was just for practice.

Catching Up - Cat Nap

I decided to paint a black a white cat portrait, found a great reference from Paint my Photo website and went to town.

Here I am mapping out the composition with paynes gray.   Click on Pictures for a Better View.

Then I worked on my darker areas and in between layers, scratching to create the fur.
Worked on my highlights and many layers of scratching to create the depth in the fur.
This is the finished painting all framed up.

Catching Up - Fishing Lures

Well, this was my very fist commission.  My client wanted me to paint two fishing lures like the old B-52 Bombers.  This was the result.

Catching Up - Pheasant

This project was a cast iron pheasant that my husband made in high school.  My mother-in-law asked me to paint it up for her because she wasn't happy with my father-in-laws handiwork.  LOL

This is the finished picture.  She was happy with the results.

Here I completely stripped off all of the old paint and really cleaned it good so that my base paint will adhere correctly.  I then painted the whole thing black and then started building textures with white.

Catching Up - Skulls

These skulls were just for practice.  They were done with Wicked on cheap newspaper paper about a year ago.
They were lightly stenciled for mapping and then freehand painted afterward.

Catching Up - 1 Year's work.

This and several future posts will be to catch the blog up on my works for the past year.

We'll start with The Frog Fish.  This was a mutant drawing that I did for a Paint Pal exchange.  It was airbrushed with Wicked at a size of 5" x 7".   It was finished in June, 2013.

Artist Compilation in Progress

I decided to play with a little color after the compilation was done.

This was a project that was done by several artists all over the world.  This was my part of the painting.  It turned out to be part of the dress on the Statue of Liberty.
